Well-known Steamatic National Major Projects Manager Gordon Schwarz has died after a long illness, the restoration company says.

He is survived by his wife Gillian, three sons and their families, including nine grandchildren.

His funeral last week was attended by a “very small gathering of family” due to the current social distancing measures.

Steamatic says Sydney-based Mr Schwartz “was an integral part of Steamatic for over 25 years. His vast knowledge and expertise saw him travel throughout Australasia managing large, complex and technical losses.

“He will be sadly missed.”
