QBE backs Indigenous fellowship winner
QBE will sponsor the first Indigenous recipient of the New Colombo Plan (NCP) fellowship.
Miles Archibald from Guyra in NSW will study in South Korea under the program.
The Government established the New Colombo Plan in 2014 to increase knowledge of the Indo-Pacific region by sending Australian undergraduates to study there.
Australia and New Zealand Chief Human Resources Officer Sally Kincaid says the sponsorship shows QBE’s support for closer ties to the Indo-Pacific and for Indigenous talent.
“QBE is one of the largest underwriters in the Indigenous community and we’re so proud to sponsor the first Indigenous NCP fellow,” she said. “Miles has already demonstrated he is not just a talented student, but has pursued opportunities in the corporate world.
“He has already expressed a keen interest in international business, having joined study tours to Indonesia, China and Hong Kong.”
QBE has championed the NCP by hosting interns, providing development opportunities for students and participating in the program’s interview panel.
