Seven insurers feature on a list of about 100 Australian employers recognised for their rigorous standards around workplace gender equality.

Suncorp, Allianz, Genworth, Brightside, AMP, Challenger and TAL received the Employers of Choice for Gender Equality Citation from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.

Allianz has received the award nine years running for its flexible work opportunities, targeted recruitment practices and professional development programs, which result in women in management roles and increased retention rates.

MD Richard Feledy says while the award is “humbling”, there is still more work to do.

“Diversity is about bringing together different ideas, experiences and business issues,” he said. “It is in this environment that we will see innovation flourish, engagement levels increase and a sharpened approach to attracting and retaining talent.”
