Chubb has appointed Grant Cairns to the new position of Private Equity Practice Leader Overseas General.

He will relocate in January from London, where he has been Chubb’s head of financial lines for the UK and Ireland.

Before that he was regional manager for financial lines with Ace in continental Europe.

He will also now reprise the role of Financial Lines Manager, Australia and New Zealand, which he held before moving to the UK in 2013.

Mr Cairns has more than 17 years’ insurance industry experience, comprising 12 years with Ace and the rest with Willis in Australia.

He will report to COO International Property and Casualty Tim O’Donnell and EVP Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Leader Seth Gillston.
