AICLA makes membership gains

The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) says the number of new members joining it has more than doubled this year.

“There’s been a big increase… across all divisions, especially in NSW, Victoria, SA and New Zealand,” AICLA CEO Tony Libke told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Asia is another growth area, particularly Thailand and Indonesia.

Mr Libke says more than 100 new members have joined so far this year, compared with 46 for all of last year.

It follows “substantial reductions in costs” for people studying the Diploma of Financial Services (Loss Adjusting), after AICLA re-negotiated the terms of the course’s delivery with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

AICLA is to host a trainee loss adjuster and claims staff workshop on August 12 and a claims convention on August 13-14, both in Sydney.

It has more than 1000 members in Australia, New Zealand, southeast Asia and the Pacific region.
