Andrea Walsh has been appointed EGM Technology and Transformation at IAG’s Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) division, a newly formed role.

Ms Walsh was most recently interim local CIO and Global Group Head of Technology Transformation at QBE.

She joins the senior leadership team and reports to CGU and WFI CEO Jarrod Hill, and will work closely with Group Technology as well as external providers to transform capability in the division, IAG says.

Mr Hill says Ms Walsh has extensive experience in navigating complex technical environments and delivering impactful results and will be “fundamental in accelerating and entrenching IIA’s technology strategy to deliver better outcomes for our brokers, partners and customers”.  

“I’m very pleased to welcome Ms Walsh to IIA’s senior leadership team at a pivotal time for the division as we bring our transformation vision to life by leveraging technology, data, and operational excellence to build a best in market business,” he said.

Sydney-based Ms Walsh was at QBE for almost four years and was formerly CIO at Isentia.
