UAC to launch expos in Tasmania
The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) plans to hold a business expo in Tasmania this year, as part of an expansion beyond the mainland capitals.
Although the council does not have members in Tasmania, GM William Legge says there has been strong interest from Tasmanian brokers, who want to meet underwriting agents and hear about industry developments.
UAC is also looking at holding expos in regional areas such as Newcastle and southeast Queensland, where brokers often have business that suits a specialist underwriter.
“We see the next five years as a time of huge growth for the underwriting agency industry, with the major carriers becoming more conservative,” Mr Legge told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
