Prestige motor specialist MB Insurance has announced Shane Sheppard’s appointment as chairman, as it positions for growth in an evolving market.  

Mr Sheppard’s experience in the Australian insurance sector includes senior leadership roles and a long involvement with ATC Insurance Solutions.

He takes over the chairman role from Bob Lee, who will continue as a board member.

“I would like to thank Bob for his contributions and efforts over the years, which have contributed to the success of MB,” Mr Sheppard said.

“My key priorities and goals as chairman are to guide the company’s strategic vision, ensuring effective governance and fostering relationships that contribute to the long-term success of MB Insurance.”  

MB, which became part of the ATC Group in 2021, says it benefits from the backing of a larger organisation while maintaining its own identity and a broker-focused approach.  

The underwriting agency, which has a history spanning more than four decades, says it is well regarded for its specialist focus on prestige motor. Mr Sheppard’s appointment comes as it continues to expand its market presence and invest in long-term capability.

The business is led operationally by MD Daniel McNamara, who will work closely with Mr Sheppard on growth objectives and strategic goals.
