Tributes paid to Brisbane’s Bob Hardie
Tributes have been paid to popular Queensland broker Bob Hardie, who has died aged 64 following a long battle with cancer.
Mr Hardie, who was a Principal Broker at Arthur J Gallagher in Brisbane, is survived by his wife Maxine and three sons.
There was standing room only at his funeral in Bridgeman Downs on Friday, according to Gallagher CEO Andrew Godden.
“He transcended business, and the whole insurance industry knew and liked Bob,” Mr Godden told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“He was a great colleague of ours and a legend in the industry.”
Mr Hardie worked with Jardine Australian Insurance Brokers from 1980-93, before running his own company, Queensland Risk and Insurance Brokers, which was acquired by OAMPS nine years ago.
