Suncorp Commercial Insurance has added to its workers’ compensation and compulsory third party (CTP) team, appointing Stephen Loomes as Senior Specialist Statutory Portfolio.

Mr Loomes, who has more than 34 years’ industry experience, will focus on growth and business optimisation across the statutory classes.

EGM Statutory Portfolio & Underwriting Management Chris McHugh says Suncorp combined its workers’ compensation and CTP classes four years ago, and is now well placed to realise benefits of scale and implement best practice.

Mr Loomes has worked in personal injury claims, underwriting and portfolio management, with previous employers including Zurich, MMI (now Allianz) and NZI. He is well known in the broker community and has strong relationships with government regulators.
