Lend Lease’s Group Head of Risk and Insurance Kevin Bates has been appointed to the board of the Risk and Insurance Management Society’s (RIMS) Australasian chapter.

RIMS is most active in Victoria, NSW and Auckland, but held its first Brisbane risk roundtable for risk and insurance professionals last week. The event was hosted by Aon.

Regional President Brad Tymmons told insuranceNEWS.com.au the response was “very positive”, with 15 professionals attending.

He hopes the Brisbane roundtable will become a regular event as RIMS looks to expand its membership base.

Mr Tymmons says there are plans to hold a risk roundtable in Adelaide next month, which would be the second such event in SA.

Mr Bates will attend his first board meeting in Sydney on June 10, the day after a member networking evening at the city’s Verandah bar and restaurant.
