‘Nimble’ Insight sets out expansion plan
Insight Australia wants to grow its presence and network of insurance brokers in the next few years.
CEO David McKinnis told insuranceNEWS.com.au a strategic plan for the group’s future was outlined to members at the recent AGM.
“We are lucky to be the size we are because this allows us to be nimble and make significant changes for the better with ease,” he said.
“Having said that, our size is also an inhibitor, and we have some ambitious plans that will see us become significantly larger and more successful in the short term.”
Mr McKinnis did not set a timeframe, but he says Insight does not “have the luxury of five years”.
The strategic plan includes strengthening the group’s expertise, professionalism, governance and financial control. Insight also wants to provide more support to members through its value-added services such as education.
Mr McKinnis says the board voted in two new members – Denise Bofill and Merlin McCloy – at the AGM.
Ms McCloy runs Mojomo Insurance Brokers in Adelaide and brings strong marketing experience to the board. Ms Bofill’s experience includes spells with many big insurers and corporate governance roles.
