The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has named its finalists for the WA broker and young broker of the year awards.

Neil Gray from Mason Gray Insurance & Risk and Geoff Pratt of Centrewest will compete for the QBE-sponsored broker of the year prize.

The three contenders for the young broker award are Erica Filby from EBM, Richard Kerbey of Marsh & McLennan Agency and Michael Verbunt of Bruce Insurance.

NIBA will announce the winners on July 8 at its gala lunch in Perth.

The WA broker of the year will compete with four other state and territory finalists for the inaugural Stephen Ball Memorial Award, which offers a $20,000 prize.

Regional young broker winners will compete for the national Warren Tickle Memorial Award, sponsored by Vero. The winner gets a tailored professional development and travel experience worth more than $10,000.

National winners will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne in September.
