EBM Insurance Brokers joint MD Ward Dedman was confirmed as a new National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) director at last week’s annual general meeting.

He succeeds Westminster Group Executive Chairman David Newton as the WA representative.

Mr Dedman has been a director of Perth-based EBM since 2014.

An industry veteran of 22 years, he began his insurance career in claims and underwriting roles in 1994, but three years later joined broker IAMA. He joined EBM in 2000 as a regional division manager, later becoming GM insurance and risk management and a shareholder.

Mr Dedman was named NIBA young professional of the year in 2007.
