McLardy McShane rallies around to fight MND
Melbourne-based brokerage McLardy McShane has raised more than $83,000 for motor neurone disease (MND) research through a four-day, 1110km road trip.
Daniher’s Drive – a trek across rural Victoria – was established by former Melbourne AFL player Neale Daniher, who has MND. McLardy McShane CEO Don McLardy is a former Melbourne FC president and a friend of Mr Daniher.
The drive has raised $1.25 million so far this year, towards a goal of $1.5 million.
The event from October 13-16 involved 70 teams and 300 participants passing through towns such as Mansfield, Milawa, Dinner Plain, Sale, Inverloch and Cowes.
The first McLardy McShane team comprised Mr McLardy, director Mike McShane, COO Meg Long and Mortgage and Finance Head Lachlan Haig, who drove a Volvo XC90 donated by Altitude Volvo.
MD Financial Services Amanda Freeman led a second company team.
Marketing Manager Rachel Sozzi told insuranceNEWS.com the trip comprised “picturesque drives, fundraising events, celebrity cricket matches and themed dinners”.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event – great people, great cause, great man,” she said.
The company will host its McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch on December 7.
