Loss adjusters urged to adapt
Loss adjusters must face up to a different future, according to Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) President Michael Collins.
He says while demand is high following catastrophic events, there has been a noticeable reduction in “business as usual” work.
“In some states there have been long periods between weather and disaster-related events, to the point that local work is scarce,” Mr Collins writes in the latest AICLA newsletter.
“As the industry continues to change and our clients implement and adopt new assessment processes and practices, we as an industry must be flexible and prepared to face the future.”
Mr Collins says adjusters should consider their marketing plans for this year.
“I have always been taught to market when you are at your busiest, because that way, in an ideal world, you will hopefully have sufficient work flow to carry you through the leaner times should they occur.”
