Accident & Health International Deputy CEO Peter Banks is taking part in an 1100km charity bike ride from Brisbane to Sydney.

Tour de Chance is the annual fundraising event of Sydney-based Fighting Chance, which provides employment, training and work experience for young disabled people.

Mr Banks finished fifth in the 1998 Commonwealth Games decathlon, but says he is not as fit as he used to be.

“I’m confident I’ll get to the end but I am a bit concerned about the hills and the chafing.”

He aims to complete the ride in nine days and raise $15,000.
