IAG ranks among world’s most sustainable companies
IAG is one of just five Australian companies – and the only local insurance group – to feature in this year’s Global 100 world’s most sustainable corporations.
Companies are evaluated on 12 indicators, including revenue generated per unit of energy consumed, commitment to sustainability targets, corporate tax strategy and leadership diversity.
IAG ranks 74th, with an overall score of 58.8%. German carmaker BMW tops the list with 80.1%.
Australia’s big four banks make up the rest of the local contingent: Commonwealth ranks fourth with 73.9%, Westpac is 33rd on 64.6%, ANZ is 67th with 59.9% and NAB ranks 73rd with 58.9%.
The Global 100 is compiled by Canada-based media and investment advisory company Corporate Knights. All publicly listed companies with a market capitalisation of at least $US2 billion ($2.87 billion) are eligible for inclusion.
