Steven Croney has been appointed HDI Global’s Marine Underwriting Manager Southern Region, based in Melbourne.

He replaces Tom Hughes, who is now Head of Marine at XL Catlin.

Mr Croney previously held senior marine underwriting roles for Chubb in the UK before moving to Melbourne last year to become senior marine underwriter and then marine southern region manager.

He began his career at Allianz Marine and Aviation in 2003 in London, then joined Zurich Global Corporate, where he wrote multinational marine programs and set up a regional marine portfolio in the southeast of England.
