HDI-Gerling has appointed Kai Brueggemann as Regional Head of Marine Underwriting Asia-Pacific, based in Sydney.

He will relocate from the head office in Hannover, where he was global head of marine for HDI-Gerling Industrial Insurance.

Before joining Gerling Insurance Company in 2006 Mr Brueggemann was a master mariner who served as an officer with the German navy.

In 2012 he became head of marine underwriting international, with responsibility for all marine markets including the German home market.

HDI-Gerling Australia MD Stefan Feldmann says Mr Brueggemann will make a significant impact for the company in the Asia-Pacific region.
