Hazards body gears up for Adelaide forum
Natural Hazards Research Australia is preparing for its annual forum in Adelaide next month.
The event will be held at the National Wine Centre from May 14-16, offering opportunities to discuss new developments and approaches in hazards research.
The group says the event will build on the success of its past two forums, held in Brisbane and Melbourne, and will feature workshops and programs from representatives of emergency services agencies, governments, businesses, communities and non-profit groups.
Among the keynote speakers are:
- GNS Science Senior Hazard and Risk Management Researcher Sally Potter
- FutureWork Group Partner and Director Sue Keay
- National Emergency Management Agency Co-ordinator-General Brendan Moon
- SmartSat CRC MD and CEO Andy Koronios
- Urban Policy Forum Chair Barbara Norman
- Defence Science and Technology Group Program Leader National Security Justin Fidock
- SA Country Fire Service Chief Fire Officer Brett Loughlin
The event will include an online component for those who cannot attend in person. Registration is open now and closes on May 7.
