Date set for Asian Claims Convention

The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters will hold next year’s Asian Claims Convention in Hong Kong.

CEO Tony Libke expects more than 150 delegates to attend the fourth annual event from March 24-26, up from 130 at the forum in Singapore this April.

He told insuranceNEWS.com.au several prominent speakers have been confirmed for the convention, which will be themed “complex claims in a global market”.

Chris Dunn, a partner with London law firm Waltons & Morse, which specialises in marine insurance and reinsurance, will discuss the recovery of the Costa Concordia cruise ship, which ran aground off Italy in January 2012.

Mr Dunn specialises in marine insurance coverage disputes.

Also confirmed as a speaker is Hong Kong solicitor Ashleigh Williamson, an aviation specialist with international commerce lawyers Holman Fenwick Willan. She will discuss the Asiana Airlines crash at San Francisco International Airport in July last year.

Mr Libke says the convention will also feature a panel discussion on the claims environment.
