Compare the Market has named David “Kochie” Koch as its new Economic Director to help provide expertise and commentary for policyholders.  

Mr Koch will lead the comparison service’s efforts to develop research insights and advice for consumers across various issues, including insurance.  

The former host of the breakfast TV show, Sunrise, says he is keen on assisting customers with advice amid an ongoing cost of living crisis. Mr Koch departed the show in June following 21 years.  

“Looking at Compare the Market’s mission to drive comparison, boost competition, and save Australians money, it was the obvious next step,” Mr Koch said.  

“People have been hit from every direction with soaring energy bills, insurance premiums, and mortgage rates – forcing many into tough financial decisions.”  

Compare the Market CEO Rob Clancy says Mr Koch will provide a “senior voice” on the economic and finance issues to help lead the group’s commentary.
