CGU will host a free bushfire webinar this week for brokers who want to assess their customers’ risk exposure before what is expected to be a severe fire season. 

“One hazard often overlooked in bushfire preparation is not recognising the actual cost of rebuilding if a loss were to occur,” CGU says.

It warns high bushfire attack level (BAL) ratings on properties usually result in much higher rebuilding costs.

“As a result, BAL compounds the already widespread problem of underinsurance.”

The live session will be hosted by CGU Claims Relationship Manager Andrew Howard and Portfolio Manager of Personal Lines Shane Birch.

They webinar will detail BAL ratings and how they are calculated, case studies, bushfire forecasts and information on underinsurance.
