Brokers struggle in image survey
Insurance brokers are among the least-trusted professions in Australia, according to a Roy Morgan survey.
Brokers rank 27th out of 30 careers in the researcher’s Image of Professions poll, with just 11% of respondents rating them as ethical and honest.
The figure is unchanged from last year.
Financial planners are in 17th place, with support increasing from 24% to 27%, and accountants are 11th, up from 45% to 51%.
Top of the ladder for the 22nd year in a row are nurses, with a 92% rating.
The only professions below insurance brokers are real estate agents (10%), advertising people (9%) and car salesmen (4%).
