Berkley, Lockton among Best Workplaces for Women

Lockton Australia, Berkley Australia and workers’ compensation specialist EML have been named on a list of Best Workplaces for Women.

The Top 50 list announced last week was compiled by workplace researcher Great Place to Work, which conducts quantitative and qualitative surveys covering areas identified as central to employee experience.

“At Lockton we have worked hard over the last couple of years to cultivate a positive workplace culture, so it’s an absolute delight to receive this recognition,” Lockton Australia and New Zealand Head of HR Fiona Bridge said.

“Our company culture is, and will continue to be, a top priority and this acknowledgment is further evidence of our culture in action.”

Berkley Australia, which includes Berkley Insurance Australia and Berkley Re, says the achievement reflects the company’s commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive and belonging workspace.

“Being recognised as a leading workplace for women is a reflection of our broader mission to ensure that every member of our team feels valued, heard, and equipped to excel,” Berkley Insurance Australia CEO Tony Wheatley said.

Great Place to Work MD Roland Wee says the Top 50 list is based on data representative of more than 40,000 employee voices from women in organisations that have been certified as Great Place to Work.

“We have indeed made great strides in closing gender disparity in Australian companies and the recent legislation to publish gender pay gap from 2024 is yet another step in the right direction,” he said.

“However, as long as we rely on legislation to enforce it, we will never be able to reach true equality. Great Place To Work Certified companies must lead the way in making the workplace fairer and more equitable for all.”
