Steadfast pays tribute to ‘dear colleague and friend’

Broker John Clark died on Sunday after battling cancer. He was 75.

Sydney-based Mr Clark started his career with GRE Insurance and moved into broking at Rowland Bull in 1987.

In 1991, he founded Clark Pacific Insurance Brokers, which was acquired by Scott & Broad in 2007.

Mr Clark joined Steadfast in 2014 and was most recently broker services manager, working with insurers and brokers in a senior technical and advice role.

He was a former Insurance Brokers Network Australia chair, and was a Pennant Hills Golf Club member for 33 years.

“It is with deep sadness that I let you know of the passing of John Clark, who passed away peacefully at the weekend with his family by his side,” Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly said. “John was a dear friend, colleague and source of inspiration for us all, and he will be sadly missed. He was a stalwart of Steadfast and highly passionate about the insurance broking industry.

“Our sincerest condolences go out to John’s family at this sad time.”

Mr Clark brought a “unique perspective” to the Steadfast network, Mr Kelly says, and many years in the industry made him “one of the true sources of knowledge on how broking is conducted and operated at the highest level of professionalism”.
