ICA hosts forum for flooded NSW communities
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) will host another forum for communities in central-west NSW impacted by last November’s floods, to help policyholders with remaining claims.
The event will mark the ICA’s fourth consultation in the region since the floods, which caused more than $246 million in insured costs. The ICA says over 90% of the 14,750 claims filed have been closed.
CEO Andrew Hall says the event is an opportunity for customers to talk to insurers about their claims and receive help in completing them.
“We continue to organise community consultations because of the real value it offers impacted policyholders, which are safe and accessible forums to raise concerns directly with their insurer,” Mr Hall said.
“We know that the road to recovery isn’t always easy, but this is a way for the industry to show up for their customers and the broader community.”
The events will be held at the following locations and dates:
Tuesday November 7, from 10am-6pm at Parkes Services Club 9/17 Short Street, Parkes NSW 2870
Wednesday November 8, from 10am-6pm at Molong RSL 22-24 Riddell Street, Molong NSW 2866
Thursday November 9, from 10am-6pm at Eugowra Community Bowls and Recreation Club 5 Hill Street, Eugowra NSW 2806
Attendees are asked to schedule a meeting in advance.
