Trio take top honours at DXC Invitational
Three insurtechs won awards at this year’s DXC Invitational.
The “workers’ comp, self-insurance and public liability” category was won by Queensland-based Staunch Technology, a software platform that helps predict injuries.
Founder Jenny Legge showcased a new return to work module during the winning pitch.
The “innovating within the DXC Assure insurance product suite” category was won by Sydney-based myVal, which offers an AI-driven record-keeping platform to help avoid underinsurance and identify policy limits on high-value items such as jewellery, art and electronics.
“This milestone marks an exciting step forward for myVal as we continue our mission to transform the way people protect and value their assets,” director Dan Novick said.
The category “enriching the insurance experience” was won by US group Nethopper.
“It was an honour to participate in this ‘shark tank’ pitch competition. It was a total surprise when I was fortunate enough to win,” principal solutions architect Dan Donahue said.
Curium, Artivatic, Healthtech Labs and ICRM Systems also pitched at the event, which was judged by a panel including Insurtech Australia CEO Simone Dossetor.
“Insurtech Australia appreciated the chance to once again collaborate with DXC Technology Australia and New Zealand and UTS Startups in presenting this year’s invitational,” Ms Dossetor said.
The DXC Invitational, established in 2018, aims to discover market-ready products that improve customer experience, increase efficiency and support compliance across the life cycle of a policy.
“We got to see many great pitches that highlight some great solutions focused on improving the insurance industry,” DXC Technology local insurance and wealth MD Michael Neary said.
