Insurtech Cover Genius has expanded its longstanding partnership with travel company Luxury Escapes to include cancellation protection.  

It provides full refunds for cancellations due to issues such as sickness, accident, injury, pre-existing medical conditions, flight disruption, adverse weather, document theft, transport failure, home emergencies, professional obligations and workplace redundancy.

“By integrating these solutions into the online and app-based Luxury Escapes booking journey, we’re making it easier for customers to confidently choose the right travel protection and tick cancellation coverage off their pre-travel to-do list,” Cover Genius CEO and co-founder Angus McDonald said.

“Globally, we are seeing customers shift towards protection solutions tailored to their specific needs and demographics, rather than traditional bundled offerings.”

Luxury Escapes, founded in Australia in 2013, has more than 8 million members worldwide.

Cover Genius’ new product builds on insurance previously available for customers travelling from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.  

It is available to Australian and New Zealand customers booking domestic travel, and for travellers from the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Singapore, Vietnam and Italy.
