Broker website Advisr changes hands

Advisr founder Andy Jamieson says the website, designed to connect brokers with clients, has been acquired.

He has not disclosed the buyer’s name, but told insuranceNEWS.com.au: “It is a trade sale to another entity who is looking to do more in the insurance sector both locally and internationally and sees the Advisr marketplace and AdvisrME technology as a great foundational piece to enable their future trajectory.”

“Advisr will continue to operate under its new ownership, and I am confident the platform will continue to grow and innovate.

“I look forward to seeing Advisr’s ongoing success and the positive impact it will continue to make on the insurance industry.”

In a post on LinkedIn, Mr Jamieson says Advisr plugged “a significant gap: the challenge consumers faced in finding and connecting with qualified insurance brokers”.

The Advisr marketplace “quickly gained traction, becoming a vital resource”, and its tech offer AdvisrME was adopted by companies including health insurer Bupa for insurance distribution.
