Cardinal launches in Australia, partners with Littlewoods

South African technology firm Cardinal International has launched an Australian operation, setting up alongside partner Littlewoods Services in Sydney to provide insurance technology solutions to the Asia Pacific market.

Littlewoods says it has helped many market entrants navigate the regulatory landscape, particularly foreign insurers looking to set up in Australia. In recent years, it has also provided specialist capabilities to coverholders and MGAs through its Insevo business.

“We want to be in the position to provide a true end-to-end insurance system that better equips our current and future clients with the capabilities to meet all the complex components and requirements of writing insurance business in Australia,” Littlewoods Director Nik Lytas said.

Cardinal has been providing technology solutions to the insurance industry since 1998 and runs more than $20 billion in annual premium through its products, including its C360 insurance administration system.

“It’s exciting to be partnering with Littlewoods who have a deep understanding of the sector and enjoy a wonderful reputation in Australia,” Cardinal Director Graham Harvey said.

"We are very excited to be bringing our skills, capabilities, and technology to Australia. It makes perfect sense for us and there is a clear gap in the market for technologies that meet local market needs and beyond.”
