Willis Towers Watson has appointed Jon Downes as Regional Counsel for Australasia, taking over from Marigold Magnaye, who is now Head of Operations and Technology for the region.

The company told insuranceNEWS.com.au Mr Downes will also be Corporate Risk and Broking Lead Counsel for Australasia, working closely with Laurie Dalton, who is Human Capital and Benefits Lead Counsel.

Mr Downes was previously general counsel and company secretary with Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia, and before that he held positions with Ace and First American Financial Corporation, according to his LinkedIn account.

He took up the Sydney-based role at Willis Towers Watson last Monday.
