Suncorp board recruit bolsters tech experience
Suncorp has appointed David Whiteing to the board as it looks to strengthen its technology transformation expertise.
The company says Mr Whiteing, who will join early next year, brings more than 30 years’ experience leading business and technology programs in sectors including professional and financial services.
He is currently a non-executive director at Macquarie Bank and an independent non-executive director of Silicon Quantum Computing.
Suncorp chair Christine McLoughlin said: “Suncorp’s strategic focus as a pureplay insurer is centred on modernising our platforms and accelerating large-scale operational transformation enabled by artificial intelligence, digitisation and automation to deliver better customer experiences and more innovative, personalised insurance offerings.
“David’s strong track record in these areas, combined with his broader business acumen, exposure and perspectives relating to increasingly important matters such as cyber risk and data security, will complement our existing board as we embark on this period of significant change and navigate a dynamic operating environment.”
