Vero NZ appoints acting CCO
Vero New Zealand has appointed experienced industry figure Paul Gallop as acting Chief Customer Officer following the departure of Campbell Mitchell to Fidelity Life.
Vero says Mr Gallop will take on responsibility for the insurer’s customer team where he will work closely with broker and corporate partners as the firm looks at permanent candidates for the role.
He says he intends to continue to prioritise efforts around modernising and automating Vero’s core technologies to allow for increased attention to complex customer interactions.
“As the risks we’re insuring as a business get more complex, we need to continue making sure we are adaptive to help us better respond to changing societal and environmental factors,” Mr Gallop said.
“What we have learnt from the severe weather events over the last few years is that our priorities will continually change and as a business we need to carry on learning and understanding, whilst keeping our customers at the centre of everything we do.”
Mr Gallop has more than 40 years of industry experience, including a role in managing key Vero relationships and partnerships for the past two decades.
He will take over from Mr Mitchell, who was named CEO of New Zealand-based life insurer Fidelity Life, a role he will take up in October.
