Suncorp beefs up recovery efforts in Townsville

Suncorp has opened a dedicated office in Townsville to strengthen its claims support for customers impacted by last month’s catastrophic floods.

The Customer Support Centre was opened last week to help policyholders with the recovery process, and is available to clients from the Suncorp family of brands including AAMI, Apia, Bingle, Vero and Resilium.

“If our customers have any questions or concerns about how their claim is tracking, or want support on what to do next, we encourage you to come see our team of claims specialists and assessors here,” Suncorp Head of Claims Michael Miller said.

“The damage caused by these floods is significant and the repairs will take some time, but we’ll be with you every step of the way.”

Suncorp has completed 60% of home claims assessments and paid about $38.8 million for building and contents claims. It has assessed 95% of its motor vehicle claims, with about 80% finalised.

The Townsville floods have so far cost insurers at least $893 million, according to the Insurance Council of Australia.
