Sydney-based law firm Phillips Fox is celebrating after its Insurance and Financial Services team was named “Best Insurance Practice” at the inaugural 2001 Australian Law Awards.

Heading off strong competition from Blake Dawson Waldron, Ebsworth & Ebsworth, Tress Cocks Maddox and Henry Davis York, Phillips Fox took the top award after scoring highly on judging criteria.

John Pascoe, the company’s MD for Insurance and Financial Services, said his team see themselves “not just as advisers, but as part of the industry itself”.
