Lion Underwriting has appointed William Rich as Portfolio Manager – Marine and has also secured capacity from underwriters at Lloyd’s to underpin the expansion.

Mr Rich has 25 years underwriting experience in areas including cargo, carriers, commercial hull, liability and pleasurecraft lines.

He has held management positions with national, international and specialist insurance providers, such as Axis Specialty, Allianz, CGU and Associated Marine.

“The opportunity created for William to join our team made perfect sense for us as part of our overall product expansion plans,” Lion MD Kurt Nilsen told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

The agency’s risk appetite includes all types of cargo, fine arts, specie, marina operators’ liability, ports and terminals and ship repairers liability.
