Insurance House grows through Assurity and Lansure deals

Insurance House Group has acquired Brisbane-based broker Assurity and Tamworth broker Lansure in the past two months, cementing its position as a major privately owned broking operation.

Assurity founders Peter Roberts and Mark Fewings have already moved with key staff to a new office in Fortitude Valley.

Insurance House Group Chairman Gary Gribbin told insuranceNEWS.com.au he is delighted to welcome Assurity, which is a fellow IBNA member.

“Peter and Mark had decided the time was right to move on in a certain way,” he said. “That was the genesis.”

Mr Roberts and Mr Fewings will remain on the senior management team, led by Insurance House Queensland Manager Ian Dobbs.

“There is a very high level of trust and confidence in Mark and Peter,” Mr Gribbin, who is also Chairman of IBNA, said. “We’ve been friends for many years and they are a good match for us.”

Mr Gribbin told insuranceNEWS.com.au acquiring Lansure in Tamworth is a natural progression, given director Stewart Lanyon has been an Insurance House representative for the past two years.

Insurance House MD Jay Fereday says Mr Lanyon has built an “impressive list of agribusiness clients. He also brings a wealth of technical knowledge in this field, which fits well with our significant agribusiness portfolio nationally.”

Mr Fereday says Lansure and Assurity clients will now have access to 24-hour emergency claims assistance and a broader range of services and advice, including access to specialist teams in professional lines.
