Aviso appoints new GM as brokerages merge
Aviso Group has appointed David Bailey as its new GM as two of its largest brokers merge to form Aviso EIA Insurance Brookers, serving cities from Newcastle to Darwin.
Insurance Aid General Brokers and Eagle Insurance Brokers, where Mr Bailey was MD, are merging to create Aviso EIA, which will place more than $80 million in gross written premium for over 10,000 clients, Aviso says.
Mr Bailey will work closely with Aviso Group CEO Craig Robson to deliver strategic objectives.
“This merger delivers on the Aviso Group promise to deliver the best of both worlds, providing local advice with nationally competitive price and service,” Mr Robson said.
Mr Bailey will also be a Director at Aviso EIA, which will be led by Insurance Aid’s MD Andrew Hinz and GM Shane Risby.
Insurance Aid has offices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Rockhampton, and Townsville, while Eagle has offices in Newcastle, Taree, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Darwin.
Aviso is backed by private investment group Envest, which will increase its ownership under the terms of the merger.
