Aon has appointed Lambros Lambrou as global Commercial Risk Solutions CEO, effective immediately.

Mr Lambrou moved from Sydney to New York last year to become Chief Commercial Officer and Global Specialties CEO for the commercial risk solutions business, and will maintain those responsibilities in his new role.

“Lambros is a widely respected and collaborative leader with broad industry experience spanning risk management, broking and specialty strategy,” Aon Co-President Mike O’Connor said.

“He is committed to innovating on behalf of our clients and leveraging data and analytics to help them more efficiently match risk with capital.”

Mr Lambrou led Aon in Australia from 2013 until his New York appointment, and previously worked in the country from 1992 to 2008 in reinsurance and retail broking roles.

Other roles have included CEO of the group’s Global Broking Centre in London, chief broking officer in Europe, Middle East and Africa, global COO for Aon Broking and head of carrier management.
