Howden has acquired WA brokerage Major Insurance Services.

The Bunbury company was established a decade ago by Jerom Major and its team of four has built a diversified portfolio, from SMEs to mid-corporate businesses.

Howden Pacific CEO Matt Bacon says the acquisition will cement the global insurance group’s position in regional WA and tap into rapid growth in the state’s southwest.  

The move comes after Howden acquired Perth-headquartered Unicorn Risk Solutions in late 2023.

“This acquisition strengthens our WA broking strategy, expanding our presence into a new and key geographical region, and complements our position in Australia,” Mr Bacon said.

Major will continue to operate from its Bunbury office.

“Over the past 35 years I ... have built a strong following across both WA and the NT, and now with Howden’s expertise and global reach, this will only strengthen our clients’ positions,” Mr Major said.
