Workers’ comp self-insurer rapped over compliance issues

NSW’s State Insurance Regulatory Authority has placed special conditions on a property business’ workers’ compensation self-insurer licence after an audit found compliance and claims management issues.

It says the conditions require ISS Property Services to implement a “comprehensive” remediation plan that must be approved by the regulator. The plan must adhere to specific time frames, and monthly progress updates must be provided until it demonstrates significant and sustained improvement in claims management compliance.

ISS must also execute a quality assurance program to assess the effectiveness of its remediation plan and claims management performance. Monthly reports must be submitted, detailing progress and improvements.

“SIRA is closely monitoring ISS’ performance and compliance with these conditions,” the regulator said.
