icare invites funding bids for dust disease research

NSW state insurer icare says applications are open for its dust disease research grant scheme.

Next financial year’s program has three categories of grant: discovery and innovation; research translation; and dust disease prevention.

“Through this funding, we’re investing in research that aims to improve outcomes for people exposed to hazardous dust through work,” group executive of general insurance and care Britt Coombe said.

“Whether it’s pioneering new treatments, improving workplace safety or translating findings into policy and practices that improve workplace safety, we want to attract our greatest researchers to pursue these opportunities.”

The closing date for applications is April 23. See details here.
