Swiss Re sells up
Swiss Re is reportedly close to completing its sale of major Australian property assets, with its former national headquarters in Melbourne the latest building to be put on the market. The 22-storey building at 31 Queen Street is at the heart of the severely diminished Melbourne insurance community. Apart from a Swiss Re office, it also houses the local office of the Insurance Council of Australia, Insurance Enquiries & Complaints Ltd, the Financial Industry Complaints Service, the Banking Ombudsman, and the headquarters of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and the Insurance Advisers Association of Australia.
Other buildings in the block, including two office buildings of historical significance, have also been put on the market by Swiss Re.
