NIBA membership booms
With only a month to go until the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA) comes into action, the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has been inundated with membership applications from brokers and authorised underwriting agents.
NIBA CEO Noel Pettersen says that since the association’s constitution changed in March 2002 allowing licensed agents to become members, enquiries about membership have been higher than ever.
“We’ve been flooded with enquiries, especially as FSRA draws close,” he said. “People realise they have the qualifications and they should back that up with accreditation.”
Mr Pettersen says many businesses want to be part of associations like NIBA to ensure they have the support they need in a time of industry change.
“Why do it alone if you don’t have to?”
