Kamha steps up at Dexta

Industry identity Ashraf Kamha has stood aside as CEO of Dexta Underwriting to spend more time focusing on other key areas of the business. Former Royal & SunAlliance GM Bob Lee will take over.

Mr Lee, who joined Dexta as COO last August, says he will focus on expanding Dexta’s position “as a leading specialty lines player in the Australian market”.

Mr Kamha co-founded Dexta in 1999 with Employers Re Asia Pacific, and will continue as company MD as well as becoming Deputy Chairman. Paul Miller will continue as Chairman.

Mr Kamha said the move has been made “in order to allow more time to focus on product development, existing and expanding strategic market relationships and on branding and image”.

He said he is confident that Mr Lee, who spent nearly 20 years with AMP General insurance before joining Royal & SunAlliance, “will take Dexta ahead on its path to further growth and success”.
