ICA to visit NSW Central-West communities
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has announced in-person panels for NSW’s Central-West communities as the region continues to navigate through flood-related claims.
The ICA says the forums will allow policyholders to meet with their insurer to discuss the progress of their claim and have questions answered.
CEO Andrew Hall says more than 13,000 claims with an estimated value of $196 million have been lodged relating to damage in the region since mid-November.
“Insurers are always available by phone or online, however we know there’s great value in holding community information sessions and in-person meetings in impacted communities,” Mr Hall said.
“We encourage policyholders who have flood-affected properties and would like assistance to meet with their insurer.”
The ICA recently held similar panels in Queensland and Northern NSW communities following the one-year anniversary of historic flooding in the region.
Information sessions will be held on the following dates and locations:
Tuesday March 21, at Eugowra Bowls & Recreation Club, 5 Hill Street Eugowra: 12pm – 8pm in-person customer meetings with insurers
Wednesday March 22, at Parkes Services Club, 17 Short St Parkes: 10am – 4pm in-person customer meetings with insurers, 5pm – 8pm Community information session
Thursday March 23, at Club Forbes, Templar St Forbes: 12pm – 8pm in-person customer meetings with insurers
