AICLA launches claims institute
Claims professionals will gather in Sydney on Thursday to help launch the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters’ new brainchild, the Institute of Claims Technicians (ICT).
Launched to provide structured training and increase recognition of the unique role played by claims professionals throughout the industry, ICT has a tiered membership structure and a recognised education course. It will offer a three-subject certificate III level, certificate of attainment in claims management.
The certificate of attainment will be recognised by the Australian tertiary qualification framework and provides specific training through an online program.
ICT secretary Tony Libke says there is a growing need for individuals to belong to a group that represents their specific professional requirements.
“As the insurance industry continues to experience more change it is more important than ever that professionals are represented by well-organised groups and have access to educational development.”
