It’s been a stressful week for former FAI MD Rodney Adler. Fresh from a spot of argy-bargy with a photographer – the pictures ended up on the front page of The Australian newspaper –  yesterday he began his commital hearing in the NSW Supreme Court on five HIH-related charges.

The hearing was adjourned to Friday. Mr Adler faces five charges over allegations that he purchased more than 3 million HIH shares in June 2000 in a bid to prop up the share price. He said he will “definitely be vigorously defending the charges”.
